Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTC-S1 is a transdermal patch formulation of semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, being developed by Biotts for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The drug utilizes Biotts' proprietary Multicomponent Transport System (MTC) technology, which facilitates the delivery of large therapeutic molecules across the skin barrier. This approach is intended to offer a painless, non-invasive alternative to traditional subcutaneous injections, potentially improving patient adherence and providing more stable plasma concentrations of the drug. MTC-S1 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
