Overview

MTDX203 is a small molecule drug developed as a first-in-class endo-exonuclease (EE) inhibitor targeting the DNA damage repair pathway in cancer. It is designed to inhibit the EE enzyme, which plays a key role in DNA repair and is overexpressed in certain tumors. Preclinical studies have shown that MTDX203 exhibits significantly greater potency and cytotoxic activity against colorectal and ovarian cancer models compared to pentamidine, an earlier EE inhibitor. The compound has demonstrated at least 3.5 times higher potency as an EE inhibitor and up to 20 times more cytotoxic activity on tumor cells than pentamidine, with an improved safety profile. Montdorex Inc., the developer of MTDX203, is preparing for IND submissions in Canada and the United States to advance this candidate into Phase 1 clinical trials for oncology indications[1][2][3][5].
