Overview

MTI-201 is an investigational radioligand therapy developed for the treatment of metastatic uveal melanoma and cutaneous melanoma. It consists of a cyclic beta-hairpin peptidomimetic that targets the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R), which is highly expressed in melanoma cells. The drug delivers a cytotoxic payload of Actinium 225, an alpha particle-emitting radionuclide, directly to MC1R-expressing tumor cells, resulting in targeted cell destruction while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. MTI-201 is administered intravenously and is currently in Phase I clinical trials for metastatic uveal melanoma[1][3][4][5].
