Overview

MTI-301-C is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 (SCD-1) being developed by Modulation Therapeutics. SCD-1 is a rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of monounsaturated fatty acids, and its overexpression is associated with tumor cell survival, proliferation, and metabolic reprogramming. MTI-301-C is specifically designed to exploit the SCD-1 dependence of certain cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The program is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for advanced solid tumor malignancies, aiming to disrupt cancer cell metabolism and membrane integrity.
