Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTP-101-LR is a lyophilized, full-spectrum microbiota (FSM) therapeutic originally developed by the University of Minnesota and licensed to Finch Therapeutics. It consists of a diverse community of live microbes derived from healthy human donors, encapsulated for oral delivery. The product is designed to restore the intestinal microbiome's diversity and function, specifically to treat recurrent *Clostridioides difficile* infection (CDI) and ulcerative colitis by outcompeting pathogens and restoring metabolic balance. Although it advanced into Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials (as CP101), Finch Therapeutics discontinued the development of its CDI program in early 2023.
