Overview

MTR107 is an injectable small molecule formulation of S-ethylisothiouronium diethylphosphate being developed for the prevention of intradialytic hypotension in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing hemodialysis. It acts as a non-selective inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), which helps maintain blood pressure by preventing the excessive vasodilation often triggered during the dialysis process. The drug was evaluated in Phase II clinical trials conducted by Wolfson Medical Center to determine its safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy in stabilizing blood pressure throughout hemodialysis sessions in patients predisposed to recurrent hypotensive episodes.
