Overview

**MTS-004** is an investigational, orally disintegrating fixed-dose formulation of dextromethorphan hydrobromide and quinidine sulfate developed by METiS TechBio for pseudobulbar affect. The tablet is designed to dissolve rapidly in the mouth without water for patients with dysphagia. Dextromethorphan is an uncompetitive N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist and sigma-1 receptor agonist, while quinidine inhibits cytochrome P450 2D6 to increase dextromethorphan exposure. METiS reported that MTS-004 met the primary endpoint in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase III study in China in patients with pseudobulbar affect secondary to neurological disease.
