Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTS-F is a topical dermatological formulation developed and marketed by Galcare Pharmaceutical. It is a combination product typically containing the synthetic corticosteroid mometasone furoate (0.1% w/w) and the antibiotic fusidic acid (2% w/w). Mometasone furoate acts as a potent anti-inflammatory agent by inducing lipocortins, which inhibit phospholipase A2 and subsequently reduce the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Fusidic acid provides antibacterial activity by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. The cream is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatological conditions, such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis, particularly when complicated by or at risk of secondary bacterial infection. It is approved for use in India and is part of Galcare's dermatology product portfolio.
