MTS105 is an investigational mRNA-based therapy delivered via lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The drug consists of nucleoside-modified messenger RNA encoding a bispecific T-cell engager antibody targeting CD3 on T cells and glypican-3 (GPC3) on liver cancer cells. Once administered intravenously, the LNPs deliver the mRNA to the liver, where it is translated into a therapeutic bispecific antibody that activates cytotoxic T lymphocytes to recognize and destroy GPC3-expressing HCC cells. MTS105 aims to provide targeted anti-tumor activity with a broad therapeutic window in patients who have failed standard systemic therapies, including immune checkpoint inhibitors and tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials as a first-in-human study[1][2][3][4][5][7].
