Overview

MTX-E1 is Montara Therapeutics' investigational two-small-molecule BrainOnly combination for **tuberous sclerosis complex-related epilepsy**. It combines MT1110, a peripherally restricted FK506-binding protein 12 blocker, with everolimus, an FKBP12-dependent mechanistic target of rapamycin inhibitor. MT1110 competitively occupies peripheral FKBP12 binding sites to reduce peripheral everolimus activity while preserving brain mTOR inhibition, with the goal of improving the therapeutic index of mTOR inhibition in the central nervous system.
