Overview

MU-G2GL01 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the ganglioside GD2. Developed by researchers at Mie University in collaboration with the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), the therapy is designed to treat GD2-positive advanced or recurrent solid tumors. The treatment protocol involves lymphodepletion using fludarabine and cyclophosphamide followed by the infusion of T cells engineered to express a CAR specific for GD2, a surface antigen highly expressed in neuroectodermal tumors such as neuroblastoma, osteosarcoma, and certain soft tissue sarcomas. The therapy aims to leverage the cytotoxic potential of T cells to selectively eliminate GD2-expressing malignant cells.
