Overview

muAd-Ifna is a murine-specific adenoviral gene therapy vector designed as a research surrogate for nadofaragene firadenovec (Ad-IFNα/Syn3). It consists of a non-replicating adenovirus vector that delivers the gene for murine interferon-alpha (IFNα) to target cells, primarily for the study of bladder cancer in immunocompetent mouse models. Upon intravesical administration, the vector induces the local expression of IFNα, a pleiotropic cytokine that promotes direct tumor cell killing via TRAIL-mediated apoptosis, inhibits angiogenesis, and activates both innate and adaptive immune responses within the tumor microenvironment, including the recruitment and activation of T-cells and macrophages.
