MUC1-KLH

MUC1-KLH is a peptide cancer vaccine composed of the human tumor-associated antigen epithelial mucin (MUC1) conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), a carrier protein. The vaccine is designed to stimulate an immune response against tumor cells expressing the MUC1 antigen, which is overexpressed and aberrantly glycosylated in many adenocarcinomas, including breast and pancreatic cancers. By presenting the MUC1 antigen in conjunction with KLH, the formulation enhances immunogenicity and aims to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses targeting cancer cells. In some formulations, it may be combined with immunoadjuvants such as QS21 to further boost immune activation[1][2][3].
