The **MUC1-MBP vaccine** is a recombinant fusion protein vaccine comprised of the **human mucin 1 (MUC1) core peptide** and the **Escherichia coli maltose-binding protein (MBP)**, intended as a therapeutic cancer vaccine. The vaccine is being investigated as a candidate for immunotherapy of cancers such as **melanoma** and lung carcinoma, with demonstrated efficacy in mouse models and ongoing preclinical safety/toxicity studies. The approach leverages enhanced antigen presentation and immune activation against MUC1-expressing tumor cells[1][2][3][4].
