Overview

**MUC13-SPION-CUR** is a preclinical, MUC13-targeted nanomedicine being developed by The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The formulation comprises curcumin loaded into superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and conjugated to an anti-MUC13 monoclonal antibody, enabling preferential uptake by MUC13-positive pancreatic cancer cells. In preclinical pancreatic cancer models, the formulation has been reported to provide sustained curcumin delivery, suppress tumor-cell proliferation, migration and invasion, reduce tumor growth, and modulate the tumor microenvironment and immune surveillance.
