Overview

MUC5AC-A24-716 is an HLA-A*2402-restricted epitope peptide derived from the Mucin 5AC (MUC5AC) protein, which is frequently overexpressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma but absent in normal pancreatic tissue. Identified by researchers at Osaka City University, this peptide (sequence: TCQPTCRSL) is designed to serve as a target for cancer immunotherapy. It functions by stimulating the production of specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that recognize the MUC5AC antigen presented on HLA-A*2402-positive tumor cells, leading to targeted cell lysis. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its ability to induce potent immune responses against pancreatic cancer cell lines, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic vaccine candidate for patients with MUC5AC-positive tumors.
