Overview

MUCD3 is a preclinical-stage bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) developed by OncoTab for the treatment of solid tumors, including pancreatic cancer and triple-negative breast cancer. It is engineered to simultaneously bind to the tumor-associated form of Mucin 1 (tMUC1) on malignant cells and the CD3 receptor on T cells. This dual binding facilitates the recruitment and activation of T cells in close proximity to the tumor, leading to targeted T-cell-mediated lysis of tMUC1-expressing cancer cells. The targeting component of MUCD3 is derived from hTAB004, a humanized monoclonal antibody that specifically recognizes a hypoglycosylated epitope of MUC1 (tMUC1) that is highly expressed in over 80% of pancreatic cancers and other solid tumors but is absent or sequestered in normal tissues.
