It is approved in China for the treatment of diabetes and its associated complications, specifically diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). The formulation is a complex mixture of botanical extracts, including *Paeonia suffruticosa* (Mudanpi), *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, and *Corydalis yanhusuo*. Mudan Granule is designed to improve blood microcirculation, reduce oxidative stress, and provide neuroprotective effects. In clinical practice, it is used to alleviate symptoms such as numbness, pain, and sensory abnormalities in the extremities of diabetic patients.
