Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mult-OiL Fat Emulsion Injection (C6–24) is a multi-component lipid emulsion developed by Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical and Chengdu Goworld Pharmaceutical for parenteral nutrition. It is a 'four-oil' emulsion typically composed of soybean oil, medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), olive oil, and fish oil, covering a fatty acid carbon chain range of C6 to C24. This formulation is designed to provide a comprehensive lipid profile: soybean oil provides essential omega-6 fatty acids; MCTs offer a rapidly available energy source; olive oil provides monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acids for oxidative stability; and fish oil provides omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) which may exert anti-inflammatory effects. The drug is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials in China for the treatment of postoperative nutritional deficiency in patients undergoing elective abdominal surgery who require total parenteral nutrition.
