Multi-pathogen specific T-lymphocytes is an investigational adoptive cell therapy developed by the University of Sydney for the treatment of refractory viral and fungal infections in immunocompromised patients following allogeneic stem cell or solid organ transplantation. The therapy consists of HLA-matched, third-party donor-derived T-lymphocytes that are expanded ex vivo using peptide stimulation and CD137-based selection to target cytomegalovirus (CMV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), adenovirus, and fungal pathogens including Aspergillus and Candida species. By providing a "banked" source of pre-manufactured, partially HLA-matched effector cells, this approach aims to restore cellular immunity rapidly in patients who have failed standard antiviral or antifungal treatments. The product is currently being evaluated in the R3ACT clinical trial.
