Multicomponent meningococcal B vaccine (4CMenB; brand name Bexsero) is a recombinant protein-based vaccine designed to protect against invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B. It contains four main immunogenic components: three recombinant proteins and outer membrane vesicles derived from the NZ98/254 strain of *N. meningitidis*. The mechanism of action involves inducing the production of bactericidal antibodies targeting multiple surface-exposed antigens on serogroup B strains, providing broad protection despite antigenic variability among circulating strains. The primary indication is prevention of invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B in infants, children, adolescents, and adults at increased risk[5][6]. Developed through collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners, it represents a significant advance over earlier polysaccharide-conjugate vaccines due to its ability to address the genetic diversity of MenB surface proteins[6].
