Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The multicomponent meningococcal B vaccine (SP MenB) is an investigational recombinant vaccine being developed by Sanofi Pasteur for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B. The vaccine is designed to elicit a broad bactericidal antibody response by targeting multiple surface-exposed protein antigens, specifically factor H-binding protein (fHbp), Neisserial heparin-binding antigen (NHBA), Neisseria adhesin A (NadA), and outer membrane vesicle (OMV) components. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development (NCT04825223), where its safety and immunogenicity are being evaluated across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, adolescents, and adults. The vaccine is being studied as a standalone product and in co-administration with other vaccines, such as MenQuadfi (a MenACYW conjugate vaccine), and is being compared to licensed MenB vaccines like Bexsero and Trumenba.
