Overview

Multimeric-001 (M-001) is a synthetic peptide-based universal influenza vaccine candidate. It consists of three copies each of nine conserved linear epitopes derived from the hemagglutinin (HA), nucleoprotein (NP), and matrix 1 (M1) proteins of influenza A and B viruses. These epitopes are designed to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses, activating CD4+ and CD8+ T cells as well as antibody production against a broad range of influenza strains. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly as a suspension for injection. Developed originally by BiondVax Pharmaceuticals, now known as Scinai Immunotherapeutics, Multimeric-001 has been evaluated in multiple clinical trials for its ability to prime immune responses to seasonal influenza vaccines in adults and the elderly. As a standalone vaccine, it induces significant cell-mediated immunity but does not generate hemagglutinin inhibition antibodies on its own[1][2][3][6].
