Overview

The Multiple Dark Antigens program for ovarian cancer is a therapeutic vaccine being developed by Enara Bio. This immunotherapy utilizes the company's proprietary Dark Antigen® discovery platform, which identifies novel tumor-specific targets derived from the genomic 'dark matter'—regions of the genome traditionally considered non-coding, such as introns and retrotransposons. These antigens are aberrantly expressed in ovarian cancer cells but remain silenced in healthy tissues, providing a high degree of tumor specificity. The vaccine is designed to prime and activate the patient's immune system, specifically T-cells, to recognize and eliminate cancer cells expressing these dark antigens, potentially overcoming the limitations of conventional shared tumor antigens.
