Drug intelligence / Profile preview
multiPlus is a phosphate-containing dialysis solution developed by Fresenius Medical Care Deutschland GmbH for use in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). It is specifically designed for use with the multiFiltrate PRO System during continuous veno-venous hemodialysis (CVVHD) or hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF). The solution functions by facilitating the removal of metabolic waste products, such as serum creatinine and uremic toxins, while providing supplemental phosphate to prevent hypophosphatemia, a common complication of CRRT. In 2020, the FDA granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for multiPlus to support the treatment of AKI during the COVID-19 pandemic.
