MultiTEP is a **universal vaccine platform** developed by the Institute for Molecular Medicine and licensed to Nuravax for commercialization. It is a biologic, peptide-based helper-epitope platform composed of a string of 12 non-self, pathogen-derived T helper epitopes onto which disease-relevant self B cell epitopes can be fused, enabling active immunization against pathological self proteins. In neurodegenerative disease programs, MultiTEP has been used to generate vaccines targeting amyloid-beta and tau, including AV-1959R, AV-1980R, and the dual-target vaccine AV-1953R for Alzheimer's disease. The platform is designed to activate both naive and memory T helper cells and thereby drive high-titer antibody responses in older adults with immunosenescence; published preclinical work also describes use with adjuvants such as AdvaxCpG and exploration in Parkinson's disease and COVID-19 vaccine applications.
