Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Multitrace-4 Pediatric is a **sterile intravenous trace element combination product** used as an additive to total parenteral nutrition in pediatric patients up to 11 years of age. Manufactured and distributed by American Regent, it contains **zinc sulfate, cupric sulfate, manganese sulfate, and chromic chloride** as sources of zinc, copper, manganese, and chromium, respectively. Its therapeutic role is replacement and maintenance of essential trace elements in children receiving parenteral nutrition, thereby supporting normal enzyme function and intermediary metabolism rather than acting through a single receptor-mediated pharmacologic target. It is supplied as a concentrated intravenous solution that must be diluted before administration.
