Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Multivitamins + lysine is a combination dietary supplement containing multiple essential vitamins (such as vitamin A, D3, C, B1, B2, B3/niacinamide, B6, and B12) along with the amino acid lysine. Lysine is an essential amino acid required for protein synthesis and various metabolic functions in the body. The addition of multivitamins supports overall health by preventing or treating deficiencies in these nutrients. This combination is used to support growth and development (especially in children or animals), enhance immune function, promote tissue repair and recovery from illness or stress states where nutritional needs are increased. It may also be used for general supplementation in populations at risk of vitamin or amino acid deficiency[1][2][5][6]. The mechanism of action involves providing substrates necessary for normal cellular metabolism (vitamin cofactors) as well as supplying lysine to support protein synthesis.
