Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination regimen consists of a live-attenuated mumps vaccine and a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (QIV). It is primarily developed and evaluated by Sinovac Biotech (specifically Sinovac Dalian Vaccine Technology) for the prevention of mumps and seasonal influenza in school-aged populations. The mumps component is a live-attenuated virus vaccine designed to induce protective antibodies against the mumps virus, while the quadrivalent influenza component contains inactivated viral antigens from four strains (typically two Influenza A subtypes and two Influenza B lineages) to provide broad protection against seasonal flu. Clinical evaluation, including Phase 4 trials, has focused on the safety and immunogenicity of booster doses when these vaccines are administered concomitantly to improve vaccination efficiency and compliance.
