Munziq

Munziq is a traditional Uighur (and Unani) polyherbal formulation used as a maturative agent to prepare abnormal humors for elimination from the body. In the treatment of vitiligo (Kalbe), it is specifically used to ripen the 'Sauda' (black bile) humor, which is believed to be imbalanced in this condition. The formulation typically consists of various botanical ingredients, including *Anchusa italica*, *Glycyrrhiza glabra*, and *Foeniculum vulgare*, which are thought to provide antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects. Munziq is usually administered as part of a sequential regimen followed by a purgative (Musili) to promote the repigmentation of skin lesions. Clinical research, such as retrospective studies conducted by the Xinjiang Kashi Region Uighur Medicine Hospital, evaluates the effectiveness of this traditional regimen in real-world settings.
