The murine BCMA bispecific antibody is a preclinical research tool designed to evaluate the efficacy and immune dynamics of T-cell redirection in mouse models of multiple myeloma, such as the Vk*MYC model. It functions by simultaneously binding to B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) on malignant plasma cells and the CD3 complex on T cells, thereby facilitating the formation of an immunological synapse and subsequent T-cell mediated lysis of the tumor cells. In research settings supported by Bristol Myers Squibb, this antibody has been utilized in conjunction with intravital imaging to visualize the spatial distribution, expansion, and persistence of CD8+ T cells within the bone marrow microenvironment, providing insights into mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and tumor escape.
