Murraya koenigii + Punica granatum + Curcuma longa

This is an investigational Ayurvedic herbal compound preparation developed by the University of Duisburg-Essen for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). The preparation consists of three active herbal ingredients: *Murraya koenigii* (curry leaves), *Punica granatum* (pomegranate), and *Curcuma longa* (turmeric). It is administered as a decoction (tea) made from ground powders of these three plants. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial (NCT01418066) was conducted between 2011 and 2012 to evaluate its feasibility, safety, and efficacy. The study concluded that while the herbal preparation was safe with only minor adverse events reported, it was no more effective than placebo in improving IBS-D symptoms.
