Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Muthu Parpam** is a classical Siddha herbo-mineral preparation supplied as a calcined ash powder. It is manufactured by SKM Siddha and Ayurveda and is primarily derived from pearl material associated with the marine mollusk *Pinctada margaritifera*, processed using herbal juices including *Trianthema decandra*, *Calotropis procera*, *Ficus racemosa*, and *Terminalia arjuna*. Traditional Siddha use includes pitta disorders and a range of gastrointestinal, respiratory, neurologic, anorectal, and ocular complaints. Experimental studies have reported in-vitro antioxidant activity and acetylcholinesterase inhibition, but these findings do not establish clinical efficacy for Alzheimer’s disease or other conditions.
