MV-CD-antiEGFR is an investigational oncolytic virus therapy targeting cancers expressing the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). This therapy utilizes an engineered measles virus backbone (MV) that is retargeted using an anti-EGFR single-chain variable fragment (scFv), enabling the virus to selectively enter and infect EGFR-positive tumor cells, leading to oncolysis (tumor cell lysis). The fundamental mechanism is direct infection and destruction of EGFR-expressing cancer cells, as well as induction of antitumor immunity resulting from virus-mediated tumor cell lysis. It is under development primarily for EGFR-expressing solid tumors, typically including but not limited to non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. According to available data, MV-CD-antiEGFR is in early-stage clinical development.
