Overview

**MV-CD133** is a CD133-targeted oncolytic measles virus engineered to selectively infect and destroy CD133-positive tumor cells, which are frequently associated with cancer stem cell populations and therapy resistance. The virus achieves target selectivity via an engineered measles virus hemagglutinin (H) protein, which has been blinded for native receptor binding and retargeted by a CD133-specific single-chain antibody fragment (scFv). MV-CD133 has demonstrated potent oncolytic activity in preclinical models of glioblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma by selectively entering and lysing CD133-positive cancer stem cells. The virus is part of a broader strategy to target refractory cancer stem cell populations using oncolytic virotherapy[1].
