Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MV-RSV-01 is a recombinant protein vaccine candidate developed by MAXVAX Biotechnology for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection and associated lower respiratory tract disease. The vaccine is produced using a Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell expression system and features the RSV fusion (F) protein stabilized in its highly immunogenic prefusion (Pre-F) conformation. By maintaining the F protein in this state, the vaccine aims to elicit a robust immune response and high titers of neutralizing antibodies against critical epitopes, such as Site Ø, which are lost when the protein transitions to its postfusion form. MV-RSV-01 is administered via intramuscular injection and is intended for use in healthy adults, including the elderly population who are at high risk for severe RSV-related complications.
