MV-ZIKA-RSP is a live attenuated recombinant viral vectored vaccine developed for the prophylaxis of Zika virus infection in healthy adults. It utilizes a measles virus vector platform to express Zika virus antigens and is designed to induce protective immune responses against ZIKV. The vaccine was selected after preclinical studies demonstrated immunogenicity and efficacy in animal models, including mice and non-human primates. Clinical development included GMP manufacturing, toxicity studies, and a phase I clinical trial in Austria that showed the vaccine was well tolerated and induced immune responses.
