Overview

mV01 is an engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus (VV) designed for the treatment of solid tumors. It is a double-deleted vaccinia virus (DDvv) where the viral growth factor (VGF) and thymidine kinase (TK) genes have been removed to enhance tumor selectivity and safety. mV01 is specifically armed with a transgene for mouse interleukin-21 (mIL-21), a cytokine that stimulates the activation and proliferation of natural killer (NK) cells and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). By combining direct viral oncolysis with the localized expression of IL-21, mV01 aims to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and induce a robust anti-tumor immune response. Preclinical studies conducted by Hangzhou Converd have demonstrated its efficacy in various cancer models, including melanoma and colorectal cancer. A human version of this therapeutic candidate, hV01, has also been developed.
