Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MV088 is a biosimilar to denosumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits the activity of receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL). By binding to RANKL, denosumab prevents its interaction with the RANK receptor on osteoclasts and their precursors, thereby inhibiting osteoclast formation, function, and survival. This results in decreased bone resorption and increased bone mass and strength. MV088 is being developed primarily for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Clinical studies have focused on demonstrating pharmacokinetic similarity, safety, and immunogenicity compared to Prolia (the reference product for denosumab)[1][4][5][7].
