Overview

MVA-EbolaZ is an investigational vaccine designed to prevent Ebola virus disease. It is a recombinant modified vaccinia virus Ankara (MVA) vector that expresses the wild type (WT) glycoprotein (GP) from the Zaire strain of the Ebola virus. The vaccine aims to induce robust and durable humoral (antibody) and cellular (T-cell) immune responses against Ebola glycoprotein, thereby providing protection against the virus. It has been evaluated in clinical trials both as a standalone vaccine and as a booster in heterologous prime-boost regimens with cAd3-Ebola vaccines.
