MVA.tHIVconsv4 is an investigational therapeutic and preventive HIV vaccine candidate. It is based on a modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA) viral vector engineered to express highly conserved regions of the HIV-1 proteome, aiming to induce robust T-cell immune responses against HIV. The vaccine is administered as a solution for intramuscular injection and has been studied both alone and in combination with other vaccines such as ChAdOx1.tHIVconsv1 and MVA.tHIVconsv3. Its primary indication is for the prevention and treatment of HIV infection, with clinical trials conducted in healthy, HIV-negative adults to assess safety and immunogenicity[5][7][8]. The University of Oxford initially developed this vaccine[1][8].
