Mvabea (MVA-BN-Filo) is a recombinant, non-replicating, multivalent viral vector vaccine based on the Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA) platform. It encodes glycoproteins from Zaire ebolavirus (Mayinga variant), Sudan ebolavirus (Gulu variant), Taï Forest ebolavirus nucleoprotein, and Marburg marburgvirus (Musoke variant). The encoded proteins are expressed locally after administration and stimulate an immune response against these filoviruses. The primary indication is the prevention of Ebola virus disease caused by Zaire ebolavirus in adults and children aged one year or older. It is administered as part of a two-dose regimen with Zabdeno for individuals at risk of infection[1][2][4].
