Overview

MVR-EX107 is an engineered exosome-based drug developed by ImmVira Pharma Co., Limited, primarily for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β). The drug blocks the TGF-β-Smad pathway, inhibits fibroblast and myofibroblast proliferation and activation, and reduces extracellular matrix deposition and protein accumulation. Additionally, MVR-EX107 exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic effects by inhibiting cytokine secretion and chemotactic accumulation of inflammatory cells, thereby promoting fibrotic tissue repair. It is currently in preclinical development, with an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for pulmonary fibrosis expected as early as 2028.
