Overview

MVT-1916 is a radioimmunotherapy (RIT) agent developed for the treatment of pancreatic cancer and other CA19-9 positive malignancies. It consists of the fully human monoclonal antibody HuMab-5B1 (also known as MVT-5873), which specifically targets the sialyl Lewis A (sLea) epitope on the CA19-9 antigen. The antibody is conjugated with the chelator CHX-A″-DTPA and radiolabeled with the beta-emitting isotope Yttrium-90 (90Y). In preclinical studies, MVT-1916 demonstrated significant antitumor efficacy in human pancreatic tumor xenograft models. While its sister compound MVT-1075 (labeled with Lutetium-177) was prioritized for clinical development due to its favorable half-life and utility for biodistribution assessments, MVT-1916 served as a key therapeutic candidate in the MabVax Therapeutics pipeline.
