MVT-2163 is a radiolabeled monoclonal antibody-based immuno-PET imaging agent developed for the detection of CA19-9–positive malignancies, particularly pancreatic cancer. It consists of the fully human monoclonal antibody HuMab-5B1 conjugated to the radioisotope zirconium-89 (89Zr) via a DFO chelator. The drug targets sialyl Lewis A (CA19-9), an antigen highly expressed in pancreatic and other gastrointestinal cancers. By binding to CA19-9 on tumor cells and emitting positrons from the zirconium label, MVT-2163 enables high-resolution PET/CT imaging of primary tumors and metastases. Clinical studies have shown that it is well tolerated with only mild infusion reactions as side effects[4][6]. The agent has demonstrated high uptake in tumors and metastatic lesions with superior lesion visualization compared to standard PET agents[4][6].
