Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MVT-401 is an in-licensed, preclinical-stage targeted microbubble-based ultrasound contrast agent being developed by Microvascular Therapeutics for the early detection of pancreatic cancer (specifically pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tumors smaller than 1 mm). The diagnostic agent consists of an engineered anti-Thy-1 (CD90) single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody, originally developed at Stanford University, conjugated to a lipid-based microbubble platform (MVT-100). By targeting Thy-1, which is highly expressed on the neovasculature of pancreatic tumors, MVT-401 enables highly sensitive and specific molecular ultrasound imaging to identify early-stage malignancies.
