Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MVT-601 is an investigational E-selectin-targeted microbubble contrast agent developed by Microvascular Therapeutics for the molecular imaging and diagnosis of uveitis. The agent consists of lipid-shelled microbubbles functionalized with a ligand that specifically binds to E-selectin (CD62E), an adhesion molecule upregulated on activated vascular endothelial cells during ocular inflammation. In addition to its diagnostic utility in ultrasound molecular imaging, MVT-601 is being evaluated for its potential in targeted drug delivery and the treatment of macular degeneration.
