MVX #200 is an investigational self-replicating RNA (repRNA) vaccine candidate developed by MalarVx for the prevention of malaria. The vaccine utilizes a proprietary Lipid Inorganic Nanoparticle (LION) delivery system to transport repRNA encoding malaria-specific antigens into host cells. Unlike conventional mRNA vaccines, repRNA contains genetic machinery that allows it to self-amplify once inside the cell, potentially leading to higher and more sustained antigen expression. This mechanism is intended to elicit a robust and durable immune response, including both antibody and T-cell activity, while potentially requiring lower doses than standard RNA platforms. MVX #200 is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
