MVX Rohers is a self-replicating RNA (repRNA) vaccine candidate being developed by MalarVx for the prevention of malaria. The vaccine utilizes a proprietary Lipid Inorganic Nanoparticle (LION) delivery system to transport repRNA encoding malaria-specific antigens into host cells. Unlike conventional mRNA vaccines, repRNA includes the genetic machinery to replicate itself within the host cell, potentially allowing for lower dosing and enhanced immune responses. Once inside the cell, the repRNA replicates and expresses the target malaria antigens, inducing both humoral and cellular immunity against the Plasmodium parasite. MVX Rohers is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
