MVX02 is a multivalent conjugate vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of *Clostridioides difficile* infection (CDI). It targets the PSII polysaccharide, an antigen present on all *C. difficile* strain cell surfaces, as well as toxins A and B—the primary causes of disease symptoms. The vaccine combines a PSII-protein (CRM197) conjugate with toxoids A and B to induce both neutralizing antibodies against toxins and reduce bacterial colonization. Preclinical animal models have shown that this approach is immunogenic and confers improved protection compared to toxoid-only vaccines. The developer is Matrivax Research & Development Corp., which in-licensed the PSII conjugation technology from Stellar Biotechnologies[1][2].
